Audible Editor Reviews

The immensely popular Sunday Times' best-selling author Adele Parks is back with her latest release audiobook, The State We're In, charmingly narrated by the equally as popular Antonia Beamish. This is a delightful and moving story of two strangers sitting next to each other on a plane who both gain life-changing wisdom from each other as they travel across the Atlantic. This story reminds us of the fateful strangers who pop onto our path, often for the briefest of moments but who ultimately change the course of our lives forever. This story is the perfect holiday listen.

Easy listen

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Very easy going plot with a few added extras but not too dramatic.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending I found predictable but still enjoyed the story

Did Antonia Beamish do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

Each chapter began with a characters name so you knew from whose perspective the story was coming from.

Could you see The State We're In being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

Possibly could be turned into a TV film like the Americans use to in the early 90's

Any additional comments?

Just a real easy going story
