Summary

When Jessica Beam is thrown out of her flat, she finds herself relying on her only family.

Things aren't going so well for Grandma, either. Her 1950s Good Woman guide books are out of print, and her mortgage is staggering.

When a publisher throws them a lifeline - a new contract if they can prove the Good Woman guides still work - Jess and Matilda have to work together if they want a roof over their heads.

Best book I have listened to in years

The narrator tells this amusing and lovely story really well. It's just a fantastic experience listening to it. I can't recommend it highly enough.

When the book starts it takes a while to get into it but stick with it and everything becomes clear and you will be hooked.

Absolutely brilliant and I can't wait for Kirsty Greenwood's next book. In the meantime I am so pleased to have this book in my library to listen to again.

Charming and funny

Expected a typical 'chick lit' summer read and was agreeably surprised, this is a truly entertaining performance - I laughed out loud at times.

Loved this narrator.

Thought the book was really funny. The lead character was just too annoying though hence only 4 stars. Would still recommend.
