General Treyvon Rayner is the Supreme Commander of the Kaliszian Defenses. He is the cousin and trusted friend of the Kaliszian Emperor, Emperor Liron Kalinin, in spite of Treyvon's ancestor being one of the causes of the Great Infection so many centuries ago. It is never far from Treyvon's mind, and he vowed he'd spend his entire life trying to make things right. Chef Jennifer Neibaur dreamed of traveling to exotic places, of experiencing different cuisines, and learning how to prepare them. Her dream came true, but at a high price. She lost her sister. Her husband died. And she was severely injured. All that was enough for her to welcome death. But for a chef to end up in a place where food was just sustenance, and never something enjoyed, was the ultimate punishment. Two strong, honorable people are both trying to find forgiveness and redeem themselves for things that were out of their control. Neither is looking for love. But if they can accept it, the forgiveness they find might be for more than just themselves.

This Was A Great Story Just Like "Grim"!!!!!

What made the experience of listening to Treyvon the most enjoyable?

This was a great story! Listening to this story was just like the first time I ever listened to "Grim"! I loved the story line and how it connected back to "The Tornians".

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the love story between Trayvon and Jen. It was also nice to keep up with the previous couples as well. I really enjoyed the action/adventure that took place, as well as, the deeper meaning of forgiveness, rebirth, and growth brought forth in the book.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

I really enjoy listening to the multiple narrator's. It makes a story sound like it should with different people playing the different characters. It reminds me of when people used to listen to radio shows back in the day with all the wonderful sound effects, along with the actors. It just really makes the story come alive!!! Not only do I hear the story but my imagination is also very, very, richly fed!!!!

Any additional comments?

M.K. Eidem please, please keep writing books like this and having them narrated with sound effects this way!!!!
Audible as a long-time satisfied customer I also ask that you would please, please consider encouraging even more authors to have their books narrated with sound effects this way and put on Audible!!!!!!!!
Sometimes I wonder how even better it would have been to listen to a series like "The Black Dagger Brotherhood", with the wonderful narration it already has if sound effects had also been added?

Narrator for Jenn leaves much to be desired

Her narration ruins all possible enjoyment for me.
She sounds dead in spirit. I returned the book
