A beautiful masterpiece, beautifully narrated

Wanda McCaddon is extraordinarily talented as a narrator and provides a highly entertaining performance. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.

If you want passion...

This is probably the most passionate love story I have ever read - of course written in nineteenth century manner. There is plenty of hearlessness and cruelty but deep passion is the undercurrent that moves the book. You may not like the characters, but the intensity of feeling will bowl you over. If you like that, this is the book for you.

Love the narrator

The story is, of course, wonderful but for me its all about the narrator. In this case, the narrator adds tremendously to the enjoyment of the text. Her ability to articulate dialect, and her inflections, her use of emotion, were all just super. I enjoyed every minute of the reading.
