Summary

Good Sugar Bad Sugar tackles the biggest dietary threat to the modern world: sugar.

Due to refined sugar in so many foods, we are seeing epidemics of obesity and type II diabetes on a global scale.

The warnings are stark - a 50 percent rise in the death toll from type II diabetes in the next 10 years - yet it's not as straightforward as telling people to cut down on the sugar. Sugar consumption is an addiction that begins at birth, and it requires a proven method to get you free.

Good Sugar Bad Sugar applies Allen Carr's Easyway method to this problem of sugar addiction, unravelling the brainwashing that makes us see sugary food as a pleasure or a crutch and replacing it with clearly explained logic.

seriously bad.

whole book is completely repetitive. based on a method that involves you telling yourself and believing that sugar doesnt taste good. If you don't beleive that, the method won't work.

It is OK

Useful book for people having issues with sugar. Although if you are one of them (like I used to be) I would recommend you the documentary "The Sugar Film", which gives much more facts in a shorter time and exciting form. After the movie, the book seems a bit too long and repeating itself (although I guess it is part of the method). But it's not boring.

Really helpful

I listened to this in chunks while driving and at home when decorating. It was a subtle change, I continued eating chocolate etc but after a while noticed I wasn’t picking at biscuits or cake. I finished off the Christmas chocolate and didn’t feel my usual sense of panic and deprivation, and I haven’t rushed out for new supplies. Instead I’m discovering the joys of my local greengrocer. Early days, but a good start.

Great read

Would you listen to Good Sugar Bad Sugar again? Why?

This is a great read - very sensible approach to the whole sugar problem. Made me realise just how it influences me and why. Has made me very aware (and surprised) of what's been going on in my body and, more importantly, why I've never been able to control myself where sugar's concerned! Feel quite liberated now I've knocked it on the head! :)

Really got me off the sugar

Would you listen to Good Sugar Bad Sugar again? Why?

Yes I've listened to it a couple of times. I did have a time when I went back on the sugar and couldn't get off it. I've also, got back on the sugar, but managed to get myself back off it, so it does owrk

What was one of the most memorable moments of Good Sugar Bad Sugar?

just stating the facts that I already know, actually hearing it in black and white makes a difference

only brainwash no knowledge offered

This book is only brainwash, no useful nutrition knowledge. waste of time really. I guess if you are really struggling with your food and know nothing about nutrition, and just want someone to shout at you again and again about stop eating sugar, this might work...

Great book, just try it you won't be disapointed

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this book is great - it breaks down all the myths of sugar and why we have been lied to for years. I read his how to stop smoking almost 2.5 years ago and I haven't touched a ciggerette and nor do I want to, now I am using this technique with sugar - I don't think this book is as good as his how to stop smoking range but I still think its great and deff. worth a listen.

What about Richard Mitchley’s performance did you like?

Good.

Another amazing easyway

Having been a slave to sweets and sugar for as long as I can remember I was delighted to know there was an easyway from Allen Carr that addresses the issue. Someone gave me a copy of stop smoking and I did indeed stop. These books are a game changer. Open your mind to what Allen is saying and you are pretty much guaranteed success.
