Dumas udgav Greven af Monte Cristo som føljetonroman (1830-ernes og 40-ernes store dille) fra august 1844 til januar 1846. Den må i dag betragtes som en af de største klassikere, genoptrykt i utallige udgaver og filmatiseret gentagne gange og stadig uhyre populær. Er baseret på Poul Einer Hansens fine nyoversættelse i et letforståeligt moderne dansk, der bevarer romanens struktur, uden at beskære den for personer eller scener, i en strammere, mere økonomisk fortælleform.

Oversætnings katastrofe.

Historien er hvad den er, men oversættelsen er katastrofal.
Dan Schlosser er genial, han skulle ikke have rørt denne oversættelse “med en ildtang”. !!!!!!
