THE ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL "GUNSMOKE."
I loved listening to it as a child, and I still love it. It is perhaps the best radio series ever produced. I will archive it for a year and then listen again!

Flawed, but good, collection of the classic series
Would you listen to Gunsmoke, Season 1 again? Why?
The story writing, acting, and sound effects (hoofbeats, gunshots, crowd noise, wind, even the proper amount of silence at the right times) were always first rate, and set a standard for all radio productions, on par with the best movies and TV shows today.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Conrad's Matt Dillon and Parley Baer's Chester Proudfoot set the standard for James Arness and Dennis Weaver to meet, years later.
Have you listened to any of Robert Conrad’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First of all, it's WILLIAM Conrad, not ROBERT Conrad! Both are excellent actors, but they are not the same person! This should have been the easiest error to catch, but it appears both in the written descriptions on the Audible web site and in the written information in the app -- and even in the text portion of the picture/icon used for the book in both places! This should be corrected, to give the late, great, WILLIAM Conrad due credit for his outstanding performance as Matt Dillon.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The longest-running drama on radio, and then the longest-running western on TV finally makes its long overdue debut on the big screen: the penultimate Western saga GUNSMOKE!
Any additional comments?
I previously purchased several of the Gunsmoke "collections" of episodes, which came in groups of 4 or so episodes at a time, each episode a separate "audiobook" Those collections seemed to include episodes from different seasons and/or out of order. I like the new organization of episodes in a whole-season format, with each episode a "chapter" of the audiobook for the season. However, one thing I liked about the previous collection was that you could read the title and original air date of each episode, along with a brief synopsis of the episode. It would have been great to somehow include that information in the new collection, so that the listener can locate specific episodes easily.
