Post-war Halo is the Best Halo

This is definitely one of my favorite Halo novels outside of the Kilo 5 trilogy. The characters are likable and have a chemistry that generally comes across as organic and Inspector "Mom" Lopis is awesome. The world building in these novels is good, though nothing approaching the emotional exploration of perspectives found in Traviss's novels (that is what she is known for though). The best part is the intricate way that the post-war novels tie in to one another and foreshadow the events of Halo 5, I highly recommend reading Last Light and the Kilo Five trilogy and playing Halo 5 beforehand.

My only two complaints are that the reader (Scott Brick) is very dry compared to Euan Morton and the novel's POV focusing on that of a relatively small, mostly human cast makes its worldbuilding feel significantly weaker than Kilo Five's.
