Summary
They don't play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wisecracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were 18? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley's biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he'll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers but walks away with only more questions - can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it?
When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: Contains sexual situations, hotties on hockey skates, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV, and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

Read the book instead
I waited a long time to download this audiobook as I was concerned that the performances couldn’t possibly live up to how good the book is. Sadly, I was right.
Neither of the narrators gets the characters right in my opinion. There is little emotion given to the performances, particularly to Wes’ character. His vulnerability- which is key throughout the story- doesn’t come through at all, and at times the narrator (not sure which one of them it is) sounds bored.
My advice to anyone wanting to read this book is to read the book rather than listening to this version of it.

Soulless!
Such a disappointing listen...completely lacking in substance. A weak storyline, made worse by uninteresting two dimensional characters, leaving a constant unmet need for something exciting to happen.
The characters don't develop to any extent and I was left without any connection to them, and a general feeling of "so what". I stuck with the book in the hope of a late plot twist or development...but nothing.
The whole book is basically a series of uninspired, bland sex scenes which lack any kind of depth or creativity.
I really wouldn't waste your money or time.

I loved this book. Ryan and Jamie are brought to life brilliantly in this narration. I found myself laughing, smiling and needing to cool down listening to this! Excellent!

Couldn’t stop listening
Loved it. Highly recommend. Fell in love with the characters - laughed, cried, got turned on, didn’t want it to end. I really rate that their relationship is not a top/bottom one, they are both versatile, so there’s not any weird power imbalance dynamic. The story also touched on struggles of bisexual identity and gay secrecy. Will probably listen to it again soon. Heartwarming and passionate.

Exceptional storytelling for a brilliant story...
What did you like most about HIM?
The passion, the uncertainty, the snark....it was just a fabulous read. I would definitely go to Ice Hockey matches if there was a team nearby. The narrators were just as I imagined Wes and Jamie to be....can I give any higher praise than that??
What does Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I think that should actually be 'What DO Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan bring to the story'....;) I have no idea which narrator read which character [Teddy is Jamie and Jacob is Wes], but I was mightily impressed with both. The audio book has already gone into my Great Audio Books folder on my Kindle, along with the Tin Box by Kim Fielding, Murder & Mayhem by Rhys Ford, Knight of Laguna Avenue by Tara Lain, Perfect Imperfections by Cardeno C and the Bear, Otter & the Kid trilogy by TJ Klune.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes of course. HIM is in my top three reads for 2015, and I've already listened to the audio book twice. ***edit 2022. Make that about 10 listens in all. US definitely not as good.

I loved this
I’ve always loved this book but in audio it’s just perfect. I love the two narrators they did Wes and Jamie justice. They have this way of getting the emotion across in their voices as it comes across in the book. I loved it Moving on to Us now and I can’t wait to listen to it
