Publisher's Summary

For so many people, whether your addiction is to a substance or merely to a certain way of thinking or acting, a profound humbling occurs when you realize that your problem is bigger than you are. The terror of realizing, even dimly, that you have no control over a self-destructive pattern of behavior - that as much as you would want to, you simply cannot stop - can mark a crucial turning point in your life. At that point, you go in one of two directions: either way, way down, or way, way up....
This audio is for you if you know in your heart that you are an addict, and that you are powerless before your addictive behavior. As the title promises, Marianne Williamson looks at weight loss from a spiritual perspective, bringing you 30 lessons that can be done separately or in conjunction with any other serious spiritual path. These 30 lessons are completely separate from anything related to diet or exercise - they will retrain your consciousness in the area of weight in order to break the cycle of overeating, dieting, and shame that rules so many lives. Finally, Marianne has brought you what you've been waiting for: help to heal your addiction once and for all!

Deeply thought provoking

Even though I have been offering a weight loss service myself for many years and have read widely on the subject ,I feel this book is one that any compulsive eater should listen to. Firstly have to say, if you are touchy around religion you might find the references to God a bit disconcerting, but if you accept this as the reference to our higher selves/ divine mind then you can get on with it just fine. If you have no feel for spirituality at all- forget it! Nice thing also about this audio version is the voice is very clear and has an uplifting quality to it. Highly recommended

- wellness pharmacist "Hi I love Audible as I can listen to loads of books which help to inspire and improve both physical health and healthy thinking."

utter waste of money

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I bought this book thinking it would help with weightloss but it just rambles on, very boring, and loads about Oprah, whilst im sure she is a lovely lady, this book was like a fan club to her.
i was very disappointed and stopped listening halfway thru.

Has A Course in Weight Loss put you off other books in this genre?

No, Im sure there are plenty more that would appeal to me.

How could the performance have been better?

By concentrating on what the title said, sticking to that subject and not rambling on and on about Oprah.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Course in Weight Loss?

Most of the god stuff and gumph about Oprah

Any additional comments?

I wish id gone with my gut feeling and bought another book.
