Eye opening
As a male in my early 30s and new parent to a son I selected this book on a whim thinking that it might help me become a good father. Leonard Sax explains very clearly the reasons for so many young men losing their way and finding themselves stuck, without motivation or direction, finding bad role models and escaping into their own little worlds and that of the Internet and video games.
This book has also been eye opening in relation to my own upbringing and the path I have chosen.
The audio book is well read and an enjoyable listen.

The book that changed our life
I have a 7 year old son, and wasn’t sure this was a book for me, as he is a clever boy as I can’t see adrift. BUT, I have had a bad consciense about letting him be too much on the iPad. As a single mother with only one kid, it has been my go to thing to get things done at home. After hearing the chapter about gaming I felt like shit, but knew I had to take responsibility. I cut our Internet for 2 weeks and my son was so angry with me. For about 2 hours... then everything changed. He started playing with boble wrap, drawing (he has been hating to do that!) and talking alot more. We have tried 30 minutes of iPad, one iPad free day and so on. But he always focused on when he could play again. I think the total cut helped us take the fokus away totally. I am so thankful that I listened to the book and followed the tip.
Other parts (ADHD/medication) is a bit american. I live in Norway and we don’t medicate that much. But in total - if you have a boy - any age - LISTEN TO THIS!

Best book I've read in 6 months!
incredible book. Good for parents and anyone concerned about the direction of modern society. The author made it clear the small improvements parents can make to improve the wellbeing of their sons and he backed all his points up well.

Absolutely amazing.
Every parent should listen to it. Explains many parental problems like ADHD, video game addiction, lackmof motivation, feminity in boys and many more. Highly recommended.

Why man fall behind
He lists five reasons
1. Change of educational system which fails to motivate men
2. Era of video games
3. Endocrine disrupters in environment
4. Overprescribing drugs to boys in school
5. Devaluation of masculinity

Eye opening. Makes a lot of sense.
As someone just before this generation but with a toe in it to a certain extent this really explains a lot and as a parent of three boys has been a true eye opener. Lots to look out for from a schooling and life skills aspect.
We have work to do.
