Publisher's Summary

Dark psychology is one of the most powerful forces at work in the world today. It is used by the most powerful influencers the world has ever known. Those who are unaware of it risk having it used against them. Don't run that risk!
In his book entitled Dark Psychology 101, author Michael Pace offers a cutting-edge distillation of some of the most powerful principles in the world of dark psychology. Each chapter explains an aspect of dark psychology in a way which is understandable for a layman with no specialist scientific knowledge. Ideas are illustrated with examples to make the task of understanding dark psychology easier. In addition, the book contains case studies and useful profiles on the types of people who make use of this "black magic" in their everyday lives. You will be also shown how you can apply the principles of dark psychology if you choose to.
Please be warned, this book is not for the faint of heart or the weak of mind. Once you have lifted the curtain on the world of dark psychology, there is no going back. You will have an understanding of human nature that few have ever obtained. With great power comes great responsibility.

Wasn't a great fan of the book.

What did you like best about Dark Psychology 101? What did you like least?

What I liked best was that it was clear in many regards in terms of terminology and examples.

What I liked least was that I wasn't informed whether this was evidence-based (were the years recent?) and that much of the book seemed tailored more towards relationships (intimate) than dark psychology in the political realm or other "real" dark psychological fields (e.g., USA CIA type examples) like business (the use of persuasion in getting people to do wrongful acts conformity, compliance, obedience, etc.)

For me, the book was more tailored for lay people to learn about psychology in practical ways to help themselves. That's not the reason I wanted a book, as it skimmed over the areas I'd really be interested in.

Would you ever listen to anything by Michael Pace again?

The author, no, I don't think his books are tailored for academia (although I am basing this off one book, so I could be wrong).

What didn’t you like about Jim D Johnston’s performance?

I actually didn't mind the reader, I'm sure if he has read other books that they are probably good, but in this regard, it was specifically the content of the book, not the reader.

Did Dark Psychology 101 inspire you to do anything?

I don't think, maybe make myself more aware of victimisation in intimate relationships.

Any additional comments?

Ok for lay people interested in self-help or "very" broad psychology, not so for those interested in learning about psychology being used in negative ways (obviously not to use it that way).
