Interesting and very informative

Absolutely loved listening to these lectures. I didn’t want it to end. I really could have listened to even more detail. I love the way Alyssa Crittenden explains and articulates the lectures, I wasn’t bored for one minute.

Very informative

This book was extremely informative. Alyssa shared her experience in the field as well as science research to go through the history of food and human development and or change. From Paleo to contemporary diet, she analysis habits, costumes and it’s pros and cons. I really enjoyed it.

Get exactly what it says on the tin

This is one of the best great courses courses on audible, it covers the subject matter thoroughly and gives just the right amount of information to keep you constantly engaged without getting lost. I think it's always good when people narrate their own work as you get a better sense of the subject matter. Would recommend

Great coverage, slight irritating delivery

Once you start noticing something it just gets worse the more it happens.

In the case of this narrator it's;
1, The mispronunciation of MANY words.
This gives the impression that she's just reading it out rather than expounding her own research.

2. Her accent, especially words ending with the letter A.
Chinaaah, Asiaaah,

3. She stumbles over words a lot and possibly speaks a fraction too quickly. You might find it easier to take in if you slow the book down a little.

4, Although it's a fair coverage of food worldwide, nearly everything comes back to the US. I felt a little unwelcome being non-American and listening to it.

5. The announcement/qualification of how this isn't meant to be used as medical advice, etc after every chapter/lecture can get on one's nerves.

Finally, and I realize this is an American thing...
I REALLY wish she'd pronounce the Letter H in HERB. 'erb and 'erbal sounds weird and wrong.

Despite these moans of mine. It IS a very interesting listen, thorough and informative and I still listened to it all and, just about, recommend others do the same.

much more than expected ! very elucidating with history, biology, anthropology all science giving the full picture in a such clarity way.

Food history informative

Very informative and covers a lot. Especially over the history of how food as evolved. I thought it would be a good book to listen to as I am studying nutrition, unfortunately there was only a couple of chapters which relevant to what I am studying but very informative non the less.

I loved it

Highly recommend!
The kids (11 and 9) throughly enjoyed the narration and the info content.
It was fun informative and eye opening
