A Wonderful Selection of Herbal Remedies
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. There are some great recipes in this audiobook. They cover a lot of common ailments, including headache, insomnia, pain, anxiety and depression etc. They use easily bought ingredients. And all the warnings about when to seek medical advice were properly in place.
What did you like best about this story?
It's just a great selection of remedies. There were a lot more included than I expected. And the recipes were much simpler than I expected too.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
It wasn't really that kind of book. It was all interesting, helpful and informative.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had a couple of laugh out loud moments when the recipe suddenly called for a bottle of vodka to be added! :0) There were non-alcoholic variations for every recipe too though, so they are suitable for people who prefer not to drink alcohol.
Any additional comments?
I've given a slightly lower rating for the narration on this audiobook because I thought it was a bit too fast when it got to the actual recipes. It may be that other people wouldn't have the same problem, but because there was lots of information, I found that I was struggling to keep up. This didn't cause serious problems listening because I was able to slow the narration down on my Kindle Fire. And the narrator had a very pleasant, 'light' voice, so she didn't sound odd slowed down (as I think, some deeper voices do). However, for this kind of factual listening, I would have preferred a slightly slower delivery.
