Summary

From the best-selling author of The Year of Living Danishly: How to make big decisions, be more resilient, and change your life for good.
Having spent the last few years in Denmark uncovering the secrets of the happiest country in the world, Helen Russell knows it's time to move back to the UK. She thinks. Maybe. Or maybe that's a terrible idea. Like many of us, she suffers from chronic indecision and a fear of change. So she decides to give herself a year for an experiment: to overhaul every area of her life, learn how to embrace change and become a lean, mean decision-making machine.
From how to cope with changing work lives and evolving relationships to how we feel about our bodies, money and well-being, Helen investigates the benefits of new beginnings, the secrets of decisive people and what makes changes last - and uncovers the practical life lessons we can all use to thrive when change is afoot and inject some freshness and magic if it's not.

The Year of Living Danishly was much better

After listening to The Year of Living Danishly, I decided to try this audio book too. I really loved the Danishly book. It was very fun, funny, comforting (hygge style) and educational. I found learning about the Danish culture fascinating. So, I decided to give this book a try too. The author is witty and the book is researched in a fun way (just like the Danishly book) but it is a re-run of gazillion self-help books that have come before it, unfortunately. I will continue to follow Helen Russell's writing though. I do like her style, just hope for more interesting content in the future.
Lucy Price-Lewis is a lovely narrator. I could listen to her every day.

Loved it!

If you could sum up Leap Year in three words, what would they be?

Fun! Practical! Natural!

What about Lucy Price-Lewis’s performance did you like?

I absolutely loved the enunciation and the emotion she put into narrating this book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It definitely was!

Any additional comments?

I really love how this book was a personal story and it made me relate to it more. It discussed real problems and solutions that I can tailor to myself. A very pleasant audiobook!
