Patty Wipfler is leading the way in parenting by connection. Her ideas, experience and ability to communicate these ideas effectively will change your parenting life and the trajectory of your family. A must read for every parent who wants to learn about how to truly connect and raise their children in a supportive and emotionally healthy and thriving home. I can't imagine parenting any other way.

I have included Patty Wipfler's guidance (long before this book form) in the postpartum care for every single one of my 470 OB patients. It is THAT right-on, smart, clear, and kind. Here is some of what they have said to me: "I feel like she really loves parents!" "It is so good to hear, when times are hard and I feel discouraged and so unsupported (especially at my job), that this is really important work and I'm doing the best I can." "Over and over she says 'parents love their children so much and want the world for them.' Sometimes I can hear her words in my head and I nearly cry, because it is so true, even when it doesn't look like it." Our OB/Family Practice profession has done a poor job of caring for our patients in the postpartum weeks and months. Patty's work and words help us close that gap.
My one criticism, this audio tape is LONG. t's been hard for me to pick out bite-size pieces to share with overwhelmed parents. I read a few pages from her book and record it on CD's for them. But Patty's voice on this audiobook is really good medicine. Wish it could be more overwhelmed-parent-accessible.
