Publisher's Summary

Confidence is a much sought after, but often elusive, quality. Most of us are confident in some aspects of our lives, and in these areas we generally take it for granted, but when we feel self doubt we start to question ourselves. In concise steps this audiobook offers the complete guide to enjoying a confident life through easy to-use techniques and the most up-to-date strategies. Through quizzes and case studies listeners begin by developing their understanding both of what confidence really means and how they perceive themselves within their professional and personal lives. The plan gives a clear framework in which listeners work through exercises as they develop techniques to build their confidence and plan strategies to suit their own needs. Since setbacks are inevitable, listeners also learn how to respond to them so they maintain a positive frame of mind as they build their confidence to make the most of opportunities in all areas of their lives.

A helpful reminder

I purchased this audiobook the day before attending an important job interview. My confidence was waivering slightly and I felt that I needed a bit of a boost. Whilst most of the content of this audiobook wasn't entirely appropriate to my situation, a couple of the points raised were. In fact, I quoted a sentence from the book during my interview and was told afterwards that this had really impressed the panel.

I think there's a lot of advice contained in this audiobook for all kinds of instances when confidence is shaky, but particularly for people who are never particularly confident. The author's voice (as narrator) reminds me a bit of the old 'Listen with Mother' broadcasts on BBC radio, but otherwise is quite pleasing to listen to.

As it's a short audiobook in length, I would recommend it for use as a quick reminder, which is what I intend to use it for from now on. In that respect, I think it's earned its 4 star rating!

PS I got the job!

An effective book, different than others

this book tackles the true reasons behind low confidence, and teaches you to solve the problems, not like other books on the same subject, that only rely on endlessly repeating affirmations without backing them up.
The narrating voice is pleasant.
