Summary

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your My Library section along with the audio.

From Cameron Diaz, the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Body Book, comes a fresh, personal and authoritative examination of the art and science of growing older and a road map for abundant health and resilience as we age.

When Cameron Diaz wrote The Body Book, she was on a mission to help educate young women about how their bodies function, empowering them to make better-informed choices about their health instead of heeding the advice of the latest headline or trend. So she interviewed doctors, scientists, nutritionists and a host of other experts and then shared what she'd learned with young women everywhere in a comprehensive volume hailed as 'smart', 'brimming with science' and 'the real deal'.

Once again Cameron Diaz is on a mission. But this time she's starting a conversation with her peers on a topic that is virtually taboo in our society: the ageing female body.

In The Longevity Book, she will share everything she's learned about the ageing process from top medical experts and researchers as well as her own thoughts, opinions, and experiences on a topic that is as essential to our health as it is emotionally charged and culturally neglected. The Longevity Book will explore what history, biology, neuroscience and the women's health movement can teach us about maintaining optimal health as we transition from our 30s to midlife, from how growing older impacts various bodily systems to the biological differences in the ways ageing effects men and women, from the latest science on telomeres and slowing the rate of cognitive decline to how meditation heals us and why love, friendship and laughter matter for health.

The Longevity Book will offer an all-encompassing, holistic look at how the female body ages - and what we can all do to age better. Cameron offers women a compassionate, informative and intimate tour through the next volume of life.

Nothing said that has not been said before

Might be expectation is too high or read too much about the subject in general, but nothing new was said. I picked this book as had great reviews and i was offered for free. I wish i picked the Chimp Paradox now. The audible itself cant be faulted, nicely articulated and easily understood. For me the downside was the content.

Great, quick, listen

I listened to this in a few days with a delay at an airport. The information is technical enough, but not overly so and the information inside is very helpful. I am hurtling towards being 40 in a few years and this has provided a really nice reminder that I am lucky to be here, strong, healthy and happy. I would recommend this book for a reminder to get rest, eat well and love dearly.

Must read for every woman!

I loved it! It's informative, but not overwhelming. It's a positive outtake on ageing, on how our bodies change and what can we do to stay strong and healthy. None of that how to look young nonsense. I've recommended it to all my female friends, colleagues and family members.

Interesting

Informative book. Have docked a star because as with her previous book there are a lot of subtitles. This is fine when reading a hard copy but very annoying listening. There were also a lot of names & their jobs & where they worked accreditations throughout the book. Again fine for reading yourself but very tedious listening to. They should have all been saved to the end of the book as a The author would like to thank. . But niggles aside an educational well narrated book.

Inspirational and reassuring.

Turning 42 this year and seeing how rapidly my body is changing and working in the NHS where I see how health can deteriorate, I found this book encouraging and reassuring and such a positive way to view ageing and the benefits of life's simplicity. We can change the conversation.

enjoyable

it's enjoyable and educational. it seems unnecessary to go into so much detail into the science, but it's nice to know she did her research.
there wasn't anything new or groundbreaking, but it was all still good information.

enlightng and inspiring book

enlighting and inspiring book. A rational study of how body ages. It made me aware of how to prepare for older ages. Cameron Diaz deleted my hidden fear of growing old and replace it with positive awareness. I can grow old while remaining independent and active if I keep a healthy lifestyle. Very nice and easy read!
