Summary
You're trying to get over your ex, yet you're still in touch and have ended up being his or her backup plan. Maybe you haven't left yet, but you want to and just don't know how. Maybe you're tired of doing the lather, rinse, repeat of getting back together and winding up back at square one. It's time to cut contact.
The No Contact Rule is an inspiring guide to extinguishing the temptation to stay in touch or to keep engaging, helping you to reclaim your sense of self and move on to a healthier relationship. Through her popular blog Baggage Reclaim, Natalie Lue has helped thousands of people break free from unhealthy relationships and breakups after using No Contact to kick a toxic relationship and transform her life.
Discover what NC is and how to do it, how to break an unhealthy cycle, and how to navigate various situations from Facebook to pesky texts, working together, sharing a child, or feeling trapped by your feelings and thoughts. Cut contact and put the focus on you. By treating you with the love, care, trust, and respect you deserve, this could be one of the best decisions you've ever made.

This book is my hero - 100% recommended!
I came across this book after finally feeling enough was enough having felt trapped for a couple of years in a "relationship" (I use the term loosely for various reasons) which had an incredibly toxic and repetitive cycle.
This cycle included me being ghosted or criticised when things got too intense/close for him, me then deciding I didn't deserve to be treated so childishly, then after a certain duration he would gradually work his way back with humour, flirtation, or pity/depression. I was also completely gaslit along the way. Meanwhile, I couldn't easily "break-free", because I had to see this person on a daily basis.
I was so saddened to see that so many books in this theme focus on ignoring the guy to win the guy... I guess this philosophy is used to sell books to women who feel lost on this journey, but it is absolutely not what I wanted or needed. What I needed was a tool to help my diminished sense of self-worth, my mental health and to stop crying wolf with empty threats of "enough!", only to fall back into the same toxic cycle without moving on.
This book massively helped me with this process, whilst also keeping my dignity intact (where I have admittedly previously lost it). I've saved so many clips from it which I now playback to remind me of the pain inflicted on me whenever I feel "wobbly", and they continue to help put me back on track everytime I feel weak.
The only thing I would prefer to see are some actual titles to the chapters, as not all chapters are relevant to all scenarios (eg. do you have children, are you co-workers etc). The narrator, pace & personal experience of the author are all incredibly well executed.

A tonic
If you know that you are vulnerable to a ping-pong relationship and you really want to be free of the pain of it, this book is great. It is very affirming, just like having a friend in your corner helping you find your inner strength.
Of course all the hard work is to come, but the author is very realistic. She paints a picture of freedom from the tyranny of that sort of relationship that is both attractive and a bit scary.
The narrator is great for this book and listening to it is probably more powerful than reading it. If you think you need this book then let me wish you luck.

Highly recommend even if you don't need to ...
...go "no contact" ...yet or any longer as this is just a very honest guide to recalibrate what is and isn't okay in relationships, romantic or platonic. I think this book is full of relationships hacks too, as knowing how to establish and respect boundaries, mine and that of my ex/partner, is handy to know at any stage of a relationship or breakup.
I like this book especially because of the focus ans tone, as it avoids pointing fingers at the X type of terrible Ex and doesn't pamper the ego by "you're already brilliant and perfect" it's just the Ex. I found that very refreshing and I guess it is an atypical self help book in general. I really enjoyed this no-nonsense approach - not only was it a good and needed reminder that much of the pain is homemade and we got our hands stuck in the dough too, but also that we can pull them out ANY time ...and what it means if we don't and what to do next. Fool-in-love-proved and tested!!
And apart from instructions on how to go NC in every imaginable situation one could possibly be in, there are so many more useful tips and checks in here that make the book worth buying. So whether one needs a practical how-to guide to retain/regain ones integrity and self-respect or help with getting a grip on all those nagging thoughts, habits, hurts and dynamics developed during a tricky relationship or over a lifetime, then this is the book! I wish, in fact, that I had found it sooner and I will certainly keep listening to this book again (...and again), so if you're undecided, don't be, IT'S SO WORTH IT!!!

A very good listen.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who needs that gentle reminder to love themselves. NC to me basically means avoid the distractions. Avoid thinking about the other person, and instead think about yourself! I liked the part where she says (and I'm paraphrasing): "Happiness equates to a positive sense of self, and will lead you into situations where people vibrate with the positive you." Because no one likes to be around a Debbie downer! Lol
Good book, great narration. 5 starts.

Down to earth, solid advice
Like a chat with your most empathetic and best girlfriend, but from a nonjudgmental and objective perspective that we all need sometimes. Empowering and motivating. Thank you, Natalie Lue!
