Not what I was expecting

Good advice and tips here and there, but most of the examples of good dialogue come from the author's own other books. Sometimes they're so long that I forget what the point is supposed to be. Part of me wonders if it's to try and spark an interest in her novels. Perhaps this book should be read on the page and not heard. I don't know; it just annoyed me, and I can't finish it. Also, it's about writing dialogue for novels. I wanted it for screenplay.

Over 1/4 is advertising

there is some good advice here. but there's also a lot of just a quotes of her writing. and a quarter of the book is an advertisement for other books. was it worth a couple dollars? possibly. but I do wonder if maybe there were other resources that would have given me more information and better advice.
