Anna Sabino is an artist, but certainly not a starving one. She wasn’t born into a wealthy family, didn’t inherit money from a distant relative, and doesn’t have a rich husband. But she made it as an entrepreneur, as a single woman, and most important, as an artist.
In Your Creative Career, she shows her fellow artists and creatives how to build a business that reflects their talent and true calling while generating serious cash. Whether the goal is to build an empire and be financially free, create a lifestyle business, or just to have more time, Your Creative Career guides you through every aspect of creative entrepreneurship.
If you want to start your creative career, transition into it, or give it a boost, this book is a must read that features:

Proven systems and strategies to create ideally priced products that keep selling.
The importance of going through all the steps of making it from idea inception and execution to branding and distribution.
The importance of transitioning from artistic solitude to collaborative, creative entrepreneurship.
The most effective marketing and PR methods adjusted to the new reality of short attention spans and information overload.

Repetitive and irritating

Maybe Americans will be able to cope with the narrator’s over the top showbizzy tones but I couldn’t. It was like listening to Ruby Wax narrate a car manual. Apart from that the book is repetitive, and doesn’t have a lot to say unless it’s about how to sell jewellery. Since the majority of people wanting a creative career will not be selling jewellery, I’d say the target demographic is limited. The basic message of the book is manage your cash flow, and sell what people want to buy. That’s basically it, but for a whole book. If you’re not planning to sell lucky charm bracelets, better look elsewhere...

Maybe it's me...

(Audible version) I wanted to find this book as helpful as so many other reviewers seemed to. but I've made it into chapter 3 and I'm setting it aside. The first two chapters focused on the author's jewelry businesses, deciding on the lifestyle you want to live, and how important it is to try it out. I'm not interested in living on a sail boat, I'm interested in building a career from my art. I felt like, after listening for almost an hour, I should have discovered some business advice. Instead, she is still going over the importance of believing in yourself. Not the marketing & financial guide I expected. I wish I could get that Audible credit back.
