Good... Not Quite Great

Of the three volumes in this series, I think this is probably the weakest / least coherent. That said, it's still an excellent whirlwind tour of the last three hundred plus years of English (or as the author points out, British) history. The author's narration is, as ever, excellent. Really wish he'd do for Scotland, Ireland and Wales, as he has for England.

Brilliant overview, great for beginners

I have listened to the other two volumes and was not disappointed. Very interesting stories, told by the author, make the stories all the more real. excellent for those who perhaps didn't study history at school, but find they have a strong curiosity now. very enjoyable listen. would definitely recommend.
