Critic reviews

"Twisty, profound and completely convincing, it grips the reader by the heart. Unputdownable." (Erin Kelly)
"Sad, chilling and horrifying, Humber Boy B is extraordinary." (Elizabeth Forbes)
"This superbly written, distressing story explores the background to the final dreadful act and the fallout afterwards. The plot twists and turns on the way to a nail-biting finale. A compelling read." (The Sun)
"That's the real mark of good writing: it makes you care about the characters. Dugdall's experience comes to the fore in her ability to keep all of her characters, whatever else they are, very human. Gripping and emotionally engaging." (The BookBag)
"Within reading the first chapter of this stunning novel by Ruth Dugdall, I was hooked.... I read this novel in a day because I simply couldn't put it down. The length is just long enough to explore 'Ben' and his story fully and ends on a perfect note, so you are satisfied you've gotten the entire story out." (Ramblings Magazine)

‘A’ for Humber Boy B:

An interesting story - told through three main characters. each chapter allows the listener to piece together the timeline as the story unfolds. Well constructed, sub plots woven in, and all resolved - always a satisfying aspect of a book for me.
Will look out for more from this author

Too much backwards and forwards

I'm no big reader, and i do struggle to concentrate.
I enjoyed the story, but with over 100 chapters and the story going backwards and forwards it was a bit hard for me to follow.
There was also characters, with great detailed parts that had no relevance to the overall plot.
Seemed to be dragged out for so long and then when all falls into place it wasn't that surprising or exciting.
Eventually I couldn't wait for it to end.

But please, this is the 3rd book I've had on here and I'm not a good reader or listener so don't be too put off by my review.

The reading was good, changed accents well for the characters.
I found the speed too fast at X1 for me and the x.75 a bit of a drone. Wish there was a .85/90 or something in between.

Anyway. I got me a new credit today so now in search for my next read.
