Years later, Bella meets Philip and she can't resist him. Only hitch is, she's still (technically, anyway) married to Stevie. Bella, typically, just ignores the problem. And the moment to tell Philip never quite seems to arrive. So Bella plans never to reveal her secret - she hasn't seen Stevie for years probably never will again.
Except that Bella's best friend Laura has fallen in love, and when she introduces her new man to the gang it is none other than Stevie. Could things get any more complicated? Only if Bella and Stevie could fall in love again....

During my chick lit phase, which occurred during my commuting years, I read an awful lot of women's fiction, some better than others. Adele Parks was one of the best in this particular genre as I seem to recall?
For nostalgia's sake I purchased this and was almost immediately annoyed by the narrator voicing Laura's fake whiny Australian accent. Why on earth didn't the company employ an Aussie actress? I struggled onto chapter 14 and thought than ten more hours of this would fry my brain, especially as the book is full of big houses, bankers and designer references. Hurrah for the Audible money back guarantee!

The fake Australian accent ruined it for me
What did you like most about Husbands?
A bit of light fun, not your usual Rom com book. Adele Parks is great, I think I would have enjoyed more if I had read it because I disliked the silly accents.
Would you be willing to try another one of the narrators’s performances?
I really did not like the fake Australian accent and was a little offensive to Australlians making the character sound stupid, it was so put on, and was a shame as it would have been much less offensive to read it normally, or get an Australian to read it if you really needed the accent.
