Summary

Soon-to-be college freshman Evie Claremont had hoped that once she'd arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that she'd been having would go away. It hasn't. She may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but she's grounded... sane. She looks for rational explanations to even the strangest circumstances. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he's near, she feels an attraction to him - a magnetic kind of force pulling her towards him.

Unfortunately, Reed acts as if Evie's the worst thing that has ever happened to Crestwood... or him. But for some reason every time she turns around he's there, barging into her life. What is the secret that he's keeping from her? Evie's hoping that it's anything but what she suspects: that he's not exactly normal... and neither is she. So, maybe Crestwood won't be the making of her, but it could be the breaking of her. Evie's now left to wonder if the dark future her dream is foretelling is... inescapable.

Good performance and story

I liked the concept and will be getting the next book in the series. I wouldn't say it was particularly smart or gripping but the story flowed with a good enough twist to keep you engaged.

Very good fantasy

I hadn't read such pure, immersive fantasy in quite a while. I came to read it almost by chance, after a reviewer indicated it as being a much better version of another series available in the Plus Catalogue, a series I'd started and found to be somewhat slow and unsatisfying (I'm trying not to be harsher than that, having only read the beginning).
It's hard for me to make a rational judgement on quality, but the emotional judgement is stellar. I love this series and I've recommended it to friends who like this genre. I've listened for free, but I think it would deserve my credits.
It's now spring. I read the first 4 books of the series in autumn and winter, thinking I was going to re-read at the end. Painfully, I had to postpone reading the last one in the series, for a few months. Then I felt I couldn't just continue and I'm now re-reading, I got to the fourth one again. With the same excitement and just as addicted to the series as the first time. I've devoured the first 3 in 4 days. It's a total case of "I cannot press the pause or stop button!".
It has some Twilight elements, but it's much better than Twilight. Incomparably fewer eye-rolls here.
I've never had a particular interest in angels, but I would love to read more angel stories once I'm done with this series.

Paranormal Romance

Everyone was raving about this book so you can imagine I was chomping at the bit when I could download it, I listened with baited breath straight away.
First off Zeller narrates wonderfully, it's the story, plot and characters that did not do for me, there was nothing new and I found the love triangle confusing, without giving away the plot it is difficult to explain, suffice to say it was as if Evie wanted her cake and the whole patisserie shop.
I found the plot spread too thin, but if you like romantic entanglements, with a hint of trouble to come, peppered with the odd bit of action this might be for you.
I don't like to be harsh but I was just plain bored obviously not for me, premise was great, just did not deliver.. don't let me put you off though there's lots of people who would disagree and swear by this new series.
