Not that Meena isn't familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you're going to die. (Not that you're going to believe her. No one ever does.) But not even Meena's precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets - then makes the mistake of falling in love with - Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side. It's a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, Lucien's already dead. Maybe that's why he's the first guy Meena's ever met whom she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena's always been able to see everyone else's future, she's never been able look into her own. And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future....If she even has one.

Insatiable is Insubstantial
OK. I'm a vampire geek. I love them all. Well, almost all of them.
Author Meg Cabot is famous for her "Princess Diaries" series aimed at girls/teens. I'm afraid "Insatiable" while not aimed at this audience is written as if it were. Unfortunately, I'm a grown woman. The story was simplistic, easily anticipated, and full of teen angst (though apparently the main character Meena is actually in her twenties). While the narrator's voice was I'm a sure a fair representation of the character (empty of substance and full of girly sugar & spice), it failed to raise this listener's interest.
Please, please if you love vampires then do not buy this book.

Good easy listening
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes if its your cup of tea its an easy comfortable listen, after work i don't need intellectually stimulating i need entertainment.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Insatiable?
When shes being held hostage in her own room. You want her to make different desicions.
Have you listened to any of Emily Bauer’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I haven't but it was a good performance - excellent narrator.

This Book Made Me Actually Appreciate "Twilight"..
Ok, while I admittedly was into vamp-lit long before Vamp Culture took over our world, I still have a discerning pallette, and this type of crud is what has made everyone turn off of vampire stories. Why did it make me appreciate Twilight? Because at least the heroine is honest about her feelings AND her intentions....she loves the guy, doesn't care that he is a vampire, and is more than happy to become one in order to be with the great love of her life. I am BEYOND tired of this mundane, run of the mill garbage where some mortal airhead falls for a vampire, has amazing, mind-numbing sex with him, and then somehow decides she doesn't want to be tainted by his evil ways and instead, wants to pursue the forces of good (sorry for the plot spoiler there...) and all just so that the author can stretch it out into a money making series. Come on! Give me a story where the heroine accepts what she is taking on willingly and with the brain of an adult any day over this. Truth br told, if vampires DID exist, I don't know many women who would turn down being eternally young, living with the great love of their lives forever and whom they had amazing sex with and who just also happens to be crazy rich and offers his undying love and protection. AND WE ALL KNOW IT'S TRUE. And yes, everyone else is right about the narrator...I felt like my 9 year old daughter was telling me a story....Horrible!

Hook, line, and sinker!
This was my first audio book experience, and the standard has been set pretty high. I really enjoyed the combination of romance, suspense, historical information, and comedy the author provided. I really loved Mina Harper and found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. The narrator was amazing, which has prompted me to look for other audio books she has narrated. She does a really nice job changing her voice up for different characters. My only complaint would be the ending. It was disappointing, but I am thinking that it was possibly written as a cliffhanger for a trilogy or a new series????
