Summary

Random House presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Into the Water by Paula Hawkins, read by Imogen Church, Sophie Aldred, Daniel Weyman, Rachel Bavidge and Laura Aikman.

The addictive new psychological thriller from the author of The Girl on the Train, the runaway Sunday Times Number One best seller and global phenomenon.

In the last days before her death, Nel called her sister. Jules didn't pick up the phone, ignoring her plea for help.

Now Nel is dead. They say she jumped. And Jules has been dragged back to the one place she hoped she had escaped for good, to care for the teenage girl her sister left behind.

But Jules is afraid. So afraid. Of her long-buried memories, of the old Mill House, of knowing that Nel would never have jumped.

And most of all she's afraid of the water, and the place they call the Drowning Pool....

Different but almost as good as Girl on the Train

I thought this book was great and loved the characters and the narration was outstanding. The story does jump around a bit but I liked that. Loved the northern setting and the eerie feel to the book.

Stick with it!

Where does Into the Water rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best audiobooks I have bought.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have also listened to the Girl on the Train. That was very good and this one is even better.

Any additional comments?

I was put off at first by all the different characters, but once you work them out it all falls into place and is a brilliant story and great narrrative from the diffrent voices.

Dragged on a bit

Good but nowhere near as good as Girl on the Train. Characters not as endearing. Didn't grip me in the same way. Important points raised regarding misogyny though. Felt it dragged on more than it needed to. Could switch off at points and didn't miss much.

My first audio book and completely gripping with its unfolding story from the different viewpoints fight until the last chapter.

I recommend this audio book to everyone who enjoys a good mystery. The construction with the different viewpoints and the gradual unfolding of the complex history of the characters means it’s hard to stop listening and thinking about it. My first audio book and I am definitely hooked!
