What made the experience of listening to Power Spanish I Accelerated - 8 One Hour Audio Lessons - Complete Transcript/Listening Guide (English and Spanish Edition) the most enjoyable?
One gets a sense of covering a lot of material very quickly. I have done some Spanish before (Michel Thomas & Pimsleur) but feel the need for a course to drill and review quickly (impossible with Pimsleur) - this course works well for this.
What other book might you compare Power Spanish I Accelerated - 8 One Hour Audio Lessons - Complete Transcript/Listening Guide (English and Spanish Edition) to, and why?
Pimsleur & Michel Thomas - all 3 courses have their merits: Pimsleur is good at geting one to think in the language, but covers so little and is far too expensive; MT covers the grammar very well, but ziltch vocabulary and the non-Sapanish speaker is a real problem; Power Spanish bridges the gaps between all 3.I believe if one is looking for an all audio approach, you'd probably need to look at all 3 to fill in the gaps
Which scene did you most enjoy?
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, definitely not
Any additional comments?
Do MT (say) first, then progress onto this to improve your vocabulary & pronunciation

I am really glad I purchased this Power Spanish audio program. There are a lot of lessons in these 8 hours of audio teaching. A lot of vocabulary words and phrases are used. They are all used in sentences so you are not just learning a list of words you are also learning how to apply them to conversations. That’s why it is not at all boring. It is cheery and moves along and keeps your attention.
Words and sentences used in beginning sections are sprinkled into later sections along with the new lessons so you can review the earlier things without having to always be reversing the audio. That is obviously done on purpose to help you review. It is very helpful.
There are several Spanish speakers so there is a variety of voices that you hear. The approach helps you build confidence a little at a time as you learn to speak Spanish gradually. I also like that the Spanish speakers say the words and sentences kind of slowly and then faster. That makes it a lot easier to understand what they are saying and to pronounce everything right.
I have listened to this once all the way through and again more than half way through. I have learned enough so far that I can definitely say that it has been time and money well spent.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Without reservation. Being able to form your own sentences to say what you want to say is obviously a major goal of the Power Spanish Accelerated audio program. In fact, the creator seems to be obsessed with that objective. In order to do that you have to remember what you learn. The Power Spanish method somehow gets you to quickly memorize large amounts of Spanish without your being fully aware that you are doing so. There is nothing mysterious about it. It is simply a matter of constantly presenting new material while at the same time reviewing previous material. You are moving forward even during those times that you are looking back. Sometimes you look backwards but you never move backwards. Power Spanish always keeps you charging ahead and learning to speak and understand Spanish quickly – more quickly, I believe, than either of two other programs that I have also used.
What other book might you compare Power Spanish I Accelerated to and why?
I have purchased and listened to beginning level Spanish audio programs produced by Pimsleur and Behind the Wheel. You'll learn a fair amount of Spanish using either of them. But the Power Spanish program using more native Spanish speakers than either of the other two. It also contains a lot of creative and unique drills and exercises, including one that is called "Audio Snapshot," that aren't found in either Behind the Wheel or Pimsleur. Power Spanish is very upbeat. It's easy to listen to. The others tend to get monotonous after awhile. Power Spanish just has more variety, which keeps you listening again and again. To get the full effect of a language audio program you have to listen to it again and again. If you get bored you won't do that.
Which character – as performed by Mark Frobose – was your favorite?
There are no 'characters' in the traditional sense because this is not fiction audio book. The narrator and native speakers function as 'characters,' so to speak. Power Spanish Accelerated has a variety of native speaking 'characters.' You don't have to listen to the same one or two speakers throughout the entire program. This variety makes Power Spanish Accelerated more fun to listen to than other language audio program that I have heard.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A few of the lines might make you laugh. And being able to use what you learn to make some of your own sentences is nothing to cry about.
Any additional comments?
I found Power Spanish Accelerated to be quite fast and effective at teaching basic conversational Spanish. It teaches a lot of vocabulary words, it has what for me is a very effective memory retention technique, it uses several native speakers, and, as language audio courses go, it is simply fun to listen to.
