Useful if you already know a little Italian

Read by an Italian native speaker with excellent audio quality. The entire audiobook follows the same pattern as the short sample that you can hear on Audible: a few simple phrases that combine to make a very simple dialogue.

There's enough variety to keep it interesting: the first half hour covered traffic offences, cupcakes and alien spaceships. If a topic doesn't interest you, it doesn't matter because each dialogue is only about 90 seconds long and the next one will be completely different.

The phrases seem to be well thought-out with a mix of simple translations and slightly more complicated ones that illustrate appropriate use of 'style' - for example translating "Do you think so?" as "Credi?" in the context of a conversation.

I would recommend this recording to someone who has got through most of the Pimsleur or Michael Thomas audio courses or who has at least a basic ability to hold a conversation in Italian.
