Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim one-fifth of the credit. She's determined to make it a success and can't think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she's in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him - his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school - and he's all bad boy...exactly her type and exactly what she doesn't need.
Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what's always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed.
Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake's past finally catches up with him. Will Addie be torn apart once again, or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

oh dear ...
I have several of Kristen Proby's books and I usually really enjoy her work.
This book started off as fairly predictable but okay.
I kept coming across dialogue so similar to her other work that I became bored.
Finally, there was passion and sex a plenty but towards the end there was more dominant and submissive sex play which I felt was ruined the book for me!

so disappointing ..
Would you try another book from Kristen Proby and/or Sebastian York and Arielle DeLisle ?
I've very much enjoyed many books narrated by S. York .. he didn't sound like he was enjoying the story either. Arielle is a good narrator, just a stupid story, probably my last K. Proby book.
What was most disappointing about Kristen Proby’s story?
same tired old story .. one big cliche.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
the performances were ok, the content was boring boring boring.
What character would you cut from Listen to Me?
difficult question ..
Any additional comments?
this sounded like a good book and it wasn't .. very disappointed.

FUSION... AS EVERY PIECE CLICKED SMOOTHLY TOGETHER
Addie is co-owner of the successful Seduction Restaurant which she runs with her BFFs - she manages the 'dining' side of the business and she's looking for a Singer to bring in more business and a handsome tattooed Rock Legend has just applied for the job. The famous (and once infamous) Jake Keller broke his Band up 5 years ago to become a successful 'behind the scenes' Writer/Producer but he has come out of seclusion needing to perform, interact and sing again.... and, as soon as these two meet, sparks fly. There's witty banter, not only between Addie and Jake, but also between all the best friends too which was very entertaining, smooth and funny and they play good secondary characters. It's also got a sweet romance between the now reformed bad boy Jake, who's got a twisted guilty memory that still haunts him, and efficient businesswoman Addie who seems to be drawn to bad boy Rockers who always end up disappointing and leaving her. But together Jake and Addie's relationship flourishes and grows deeper until Jake's guilt ridden conscience implodes and they hit a major bump in the road which totally derails their journey to the HEA. And it's up to Jake to make things right..... which he does in the most tender, touching, sweet and romantic ways ever.
There's one thing about Kristen Proby's books that thankfully never differs.... it's her ability to write about loveable and well developed characters whose love stories easily draws you in. You witness and feel the initial attraction, the sizzling chemistry, the steamy encounters and the sweet romance between the Hero and Heroine.... but then you dread, and helplessly watch, as one of them inevitably cocks things up.... and this time it was Jake's misplaced guilt. Told from alternate POV's and the narrators did a great job at making the story, and it's characters, come alive.
Worth a credit? YES - KP's books are always an auto download for me because I know the listen is going to be an enjoyable, entertaining and well written Contemporary romance with a great story, sex, loveable characters, humor and a bit of angst. And this listen didn't disappoint, in fact it surpassed my expectations because of all the wonderful characters it contained and I can't wait for the next book in this new Fusion series because KP has already introduced the characters, their connection and the dilemma that's keeping them apart.
