What did you like best about Living with Fibromyalgia? What did you like least?
having lived with this condition for 11yrs (so far) some of the information was a very useful recap. For somebody new to the diagnosis or a loved one it has plenty of wonderful bits of advice on how to deal with it.
On the downside it has a very clear alternative medication anti pharmaceutical agenda.A lot of the things recommended are little short of quackery and often very expensive whilst offering little more than a placebo.I strongly recommend people to stick with the advice of medical professionals regarding your medication regime.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
there was plenty of good advice in the book regarding exercise and trying to stay positive and how to deal with others while you try to live as best as one can. That being said as i stated above some of the advice is quite dangerous. It is wonderful if you can cope with little medication but it does offer the best way to treat it.It takes a long time to find the meds that work best for you+there are downsides of everything. You certainly should not feel guilty though if you need all your prescribed drugs.there are good reasons why conventional treatment is thus called.Just because something is natural it does not automatically make it good for you.there are after all many toxins+poisons that are totally natural.
What three words best describe Norman Gilligan’s performance?
i cant find three words to describe the performance.but it is odd when a man reads a womans books+vice versa
also some of the pronunciations were poor
Was Living with Fibromyalgia worth the listening time?
was a good listen just be selective with what you take from it
Any additional comments?
first of all good luck dealing with a very trying+tiring illness
it may take a long time+many different components to find what works best for you but it is worth it
i still have days where i cant move+need help with all aspects of life but i have re discovered my love of life+your approach will probably be different from mine but audible is a huge help.as is education+interaction with the world

If you want to HEAL your body I suggest reading other books with a more positive, heart-centered approach... like From Fatigued to Fantastic by Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum. While Christine had some good advice, the tone of the book leaves you feeling hopeless. She talk about ways you can let people know how horrible and helpless you feel with little hope of living a joy-filled, happy and healthy life. A Simple solution when the pain is bad -- try doing a coffee enema (I use the Gerson Therapy recipe--Google it). 90% or more of the pain disappears. Add Meditation while you're holding the enema coffee (15 min) and you'll feel like you can conquer the world again!
Fibromyalgia does not define you. Respect it (and your body) by limiting things that aggravate it. Honor your body with organic whole foods, pasture fed protein and the right supplements and you'll start feeling like your amazing self again! You're worth it!!!
