Summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In Lord of Chaos, the sixth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, builds his army of Light even as sworn enemies--and supposed allies--move against him.

Now ruling Tear, Andor, and Caemlyn, among other nations, Rand is recruiting all men capable of channeling to be trained as his Asha'man soldiers. The warrior Aiel clans have pledged loyalty to Rand, acknowledging him as their chief of chiefs, even though the Shaido Aiel remain a threat.

Split into two factions, the Aes Sedai of the White Tower and their rebel counterparts both seek to ally themselves with the Dragon Reborn. Rand knows all too well the manipulative nature of the Aes Sedai, no matter which side of their internal war they stand upon. But even he cannot predict just how desperate, cruel, and treacherous they can be.

And in the shadows, the Forsaken and the Dark One are conjuring even more chaos...

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

More misandry and awful female characters.

The female characters in this book are awful, I'm starting to see a pattern here... :/

Beautiful

My life has changed so much over the year I have read this series not so much the things that are in my life but my outlook on it. With a heavy heart I finish the last book and can confidently say with a tear in my eye this is the best book series I have read in my thousands of hours of reading and listening to them this is the first and likely the last book series that has made me cry at the end and if you are apprehensive about reading a 14 book series I can tell you now that you will not regret it at the end a phenomenal story all the way through with a pair of incredible readers makes these books my favourite of all time.

Brilliant as expected

Another gripping sequel in the wheel of time. The sheer magnitude and imagination in these stories is astounding. The characters and images whirl around in my head. Each book is as good as the last. A very immersive series. Is up there with the best epic fantasy we have.

A turning point with appropriate gravitas

The WOT series has been described before as a series of trilogies, and this book serves as the perfect end to the second. The narrators, Reading & Kramer, never fail to give appropriate gravitas. The end of this book is still one of my favourite books endings (fantasy or otherwise) and as such is worth the investment. I can’t wait to see what R Pike does with the end of this book when (if?!) it comes.
P.s. I know it’s arbitrary, but the fact that Reading & Kramer are married gives me a massive surge of affection whenever they have a changeover; the fact the series revolves around relationships is perfect!

At 34h 14m you get to the end of cassette 5

Get an odd reminder how old these recordings are, compared to the new version.
When there is a break and announcement that 'This book continues on cassette 6' that has failed to be edited out.

What a great continuation of the story!

The great number of pay-offs we get to the previous books' set-ups are so satisfying. The entire book was finished in under two weeks, and I enjoyed every hour of it. Listening to book 7 next!
