For those who don't know, biocentrism is the view or belief that the rights and needs of humans are not more important than those of other living things. It is actually something that I try to live by; I don't hurt anything that leaves me alone, but if a mosquito bites me he is off the playing field!!! This book, for being less than an hour long, really does bring up some deep concepts and old concerns. It also goes a little far afield regarding what happens after the universe ends and such and becomes quasi-scientific. I found it interesting for a short book, and nice to give me something to think about while I walked the dog.
Gilbert narrates smoothly, and if I had to compare her it would almost be to say she was like Sagan on Cosmos. She was enthusiastic and informative, and was a real treat to listen to as you went along. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Trying to capitalize on the original, this is vacuous and dull. Do not waste your money like I did
