Summary

The police urgently need Harry Hole. A killer is stalking Oslo’s streets. Police officers are being slain at the scenes of crimes they once investigated, but failed to solve. The murders are brutal, the media reaction hysterical. But this time, Harry can’t help anyone.

For years, detective Harry Hole has been at the centre of every major criminal investigation in Oslo. His dedication to his job and his brilliant insights have saved the lives of countless people. But now, with those he loves most facing terrible danger, Harry can’t protect anyone. Least of all himself.

Classic Nesbo

Would you listen to Police again? Why?

The detail is so tight, no wasted words, no filling or padding out. Listening again is almost a requirement to catch it all.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Police?

Rachael allowing Ceilia into the flat.

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Mood and pace.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no, to be savoured over several 2 hour sessions

Any additional comments?

More Harry Hole please.

It's a very good yarn, intelligently written (but I'm not going to give any of the plot away)

No, but I will now!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Cop killer thriller

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed the prolonged agony Nesbo has put me through! The suspense in the story was playing on my mind, It haunted me to get to somewhere comfortable and relieved at so many stages.

Another top listen

Another great book from Jo Nesbo with narrator Sean Barrett in top form. Likeable characters and a story which keeps you listening from start to finish. I've listened to this one twice now and will listen again in the future. Well worth every penny

Jo Nesbo's Scandinavian Noir at its best.

Harry Hole with another story with the rest of the gang. There is so much meat in these stories and all of it tasty.

Another Nesbo classic

Would you consider the audio edition of Police to be better than the print version?

Have not read print. Why this question? On an audible site

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harry, but between the writer and Sean Barrett's narration every character has merit

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Sean Barrett brings Sean Barrett, without a doubt, one of the top three narrators

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Don't name a film of this book, why does everything have to be a film

Gripping to the end

Jo Nesbo is the master of modern crime writing. Like all his other Harry Hole novels this holds you spellbound to the end all the time you're trying to 2nd guess who did it; just when you think you have it sussed there's another clue to send you off in a different direction

Another fantastic storyline for our flawed hero

What made the experience of listening to Police the most enjoyable?

Another great piece of work from Jo Nesbo, filled with twists and turns and the usual "will Harry mess everything up" suspense created by such a great character and writer. Sean Barrett once again brings everything to life and delivers a great performance. Returning to a slightly more traditional who done it approach rather than the Russian drug overlord as in the Phantom. Jo Nesbo does this so well and like in the past not afraid to shake up the main characters. An excellent book.

Captivating..

I've been waiting with great excitement to read the latest Harry Hole offering and have not been disappointed. I thought I was at the start actually, gutted in fact... but as the book progressed I was elated. Brilliantly crafted and possibly the best one yet... certainly my favourite. I think each one gets better and feel in a happy place that there might be more to come. Sean Barrett is just about the best narrator there is. He's just amazing and I love his voice. He is the perfect Harry... Thanks to all involved for providing such wonderful entertainment. It's so good I'm on my second run to catch the inevitable bits you miss the first time...
