Summary

In this provocative but balanced audiobook, Kenneth Minogue discusses the development of politics from the ancient world to the twentieth century. He prompts us to consider why political systems evolve, how politics offers both power and order in our society, whether democracy is always a good thing, and what future politics may have in the twenty-first century.

A very basic, yet thought provoking introduction

It is a good introduction to politics as a whole and it is very thought provoking. I got through it in 2 sittings.

Excellent book, didn't like the narration.

This is an excellent book, much of which was revelatory to me, since I'm unschooled in political science. The narrator is clear and easy to understand, but his pace is tired and to me he sounds bored. A slightly racier style on his part would present the material better.
