Summary

This book is essentially a book of shadows, a kitchen witch's grimoire. It covers what it means to be a witch, how a witch works, what a witch does and how a witch celebrates the turning of the seasons. It is packed full of information about all sorts of subjects from a breakdown of rituals and magical tools to reading auras and rites of passage, along with meditations, recipes for oils, incenses and spells and a huge amount of crafts to make for each sabbat. The information herein does not follow any strict tradition; it is an individual interpretation of witchcraft melding together Wiccan training with kitchen witchery, ways of the old craft and a bit of hoodoo thrown in for good measure. Magic and the craft are fluid and flexible; they are ever-changing and we are ever learning.

Great book full of lots of practical information

This is a great book. I enjoyed it a lot. I shall have to purchase a hard copy now to make use of all the practical recipes.

Not what I was looking for..

Quite disappointed with this one and I was really looking forward to reading it. i found the narrator very hard to listen to, especially when listing things. Her emphasis is placed strangely on words and her reading has quite a sing-song quality to it.
The book itself was not bad, but I wanted more practical elements. Instead the large majorty of the book discusses beings like dragons, faeries.ans gnomes at great length. i enjoyed the very end section on the sabbats and festivals and there are some nice ideas to celebrate them here.

Good read!

Good book and a lot to take in, so I purchased the book. Very hard to take notes and listen at the same time. Did not care so much for the performer. She tended to talk "baby talk" on several occasions when it was unnecessary. Again, great book for a Hedge Witch as there are so few that I can find.
