Misprounciations ruin the pleasure of the story.

Nice voice to start with which should have made listening to a good story enjoyable but when words like 'quay' 'ton' 'Covent Garden' & 'chaise lounge' can't be pronounced correctly, it is just terrible!
This performance gets worse and worse as you go on...more words wrong and a ridiculous Cockney accent creeps in for the most inappropriate character. This is a regency period story, if it's going to be read by an American, they shouldn't pretend they can speak with an English accent and they should be taught the pronunciation of the places and common era appropriate words.

A Really Enjoyable Historical Novel

This is a good historical novel set in Regency London. I loved the characters and the plot however the story's narrator was annoying. The word "quay" is pronounced "key" and not "kway". She seemed to have trouble with some of the more local British pronunciations so must not have been a Brit. That said this was a good book with some erotic scenes but they were all part of the plot so were not gratuitous. I would highly recommend this novel.
