Summary

A new novel by Terry Brooks is always a cause for celebration. For more than 20 years, the best selling author of the classic Shannara epic has proven himself one of the modern masters of fantasy, winning the hearts and minds of devoted listeners around the world. In his last acclaimed novel, Ilse Witch, a brave company of explorers led by the last Druid, Walker Boh, traveled across unknown seas in search of an elusive magic. Yet perhaps Walker and his team were lured there for sinister, unforeseen purposes... Now, in Antrax, as the crew aboard the Jerle Shannara is attacked by evil forces, the Druid's protege, Bek Rowe, and his companions are pursued by the mysterious Ilse Witch. Meanwhile, Walker is alone, caught in a dark maze beneath the ruined city of Castledown, stalked by a hungry, unseen enemy.
For there is something alive in Castledown. Something not human. Something old beyond reckoning that covets the magic of Druids, elves, even the Ilse Witch. Something that hunts men for its own designs: Antrax. It is a spirit that commands ancient technologies and mechanical monsters, feeds off enchantment, and traps the souls of men.

Antrax

Loved this book. Excitement from the beginning. Continues on where the previous book left off. Hope the third book is as good.

Good story but only Abridge

What would have made The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara better?

I really wanted to purchase the unabridged version of this book. Since one was not available, I had no choice to buy this one. Hence my overall rating is two stars. I feel the abridge version cuts out too many important parts of the story

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Using logic, one can easily figure out the ending. Since it is part of a series, there is an element of continuation of the story and not really an ending.

Which character – as performed by Charles Keating – was your favorite?

Walker

What character would you cut from The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara?

none
