Publisher's Summary

In the third century of the second calendar, the galactic Federation, once a beacon of democracy and peace, has become a corrupt tyranny. Freedom and Justice are things of the past.
Roj Blake stood up for the ordinary people. When the establishment tried intimidation, he laughed in their faces; when they tried to crush him, he fought back. They tried to brainwash him into obedience, but he broke their conditioning. Finally they framed him for crimes he didn't commit and sentenced him to permanent exile on the notorious prison planet of Cygnus Alpha. The Federation thinks it has seen the last of Roj Blake...
The Federation will wish it had.

"This series is morally complex, deeply noir, and sounding slicker than ever in its now feature length format." (Jesse Willis, SFF Audio)
"I really enjoyed the audio series - fresh, bold and credible." (Matthew Graham, Writer / Creator, Life on Mars)

I was apprehensive about buying this- but it was brilliantly done and I thoroughly enjoyed it- a bit brief, but nice dramatisation and reasonable storyline.

A Torch of Remembrance

What would the world be like, with audio drama's like this? No more reality TV, no more Jersey Shores/Any Way But Essex, a world of quality entertainment. This takes the core principals of Blake 7, the corruption in politics, the heavy handed use of military force, and brings it bang up to date with this world of CCTV and wiring taping.

Oh and there are space ships, don;t forget that.

Each actor brings a new aspect to the characters they have been asked to reinvigorate: Avon is still as sneaky and acerbic as ever, with Blake the idealist to the end. This is a treat to the ears, and I am sorry to say you will be asking for more of it when the end arrives in Liberator.
