Summary

Eva is happy to get her life back to normal, or as normal as it can for a woman who had half her brain replaced by a computer implant of her own making. Then Ernie, the ex who put a hole in her skull, shows up for dinner with her parents.

Dangerous indeed!

I got this book in exchange for an honest opinion, and it didn't disappoint. It's not my usual kind of sci if, but it is Cyberpunk and very interesting. The world building and character depth is great.

The technology in here was really well thought out. I enjoyed the explanations and the journey that happens for the MC.

Earnie, what a horrid, horrid man. Had my skin crawling. There were so many nice twists and turns within this story that it kept me guessing. I really could identify with Eva. She's an amazing character.

I enjoyed the narration, although I have to admit it seemed to be read a little on the slow side. I wasn't sure if it was just me, but it's obviously the natural cadence of the narrator who is actually the author too. Wow, wish I could narrate my own work, extra kudos for trying. The voice is nice to listen to and the production is good. I did want the ending to be a little more satisfying, but I'm thinking there might be more from this world, so the odd question I can cope with not getting a resolution.

In all this is a great story and narration, well worth checking out. And I'll be looking for more stories from Mariah :)
