Summary

Sookie Stackhouse is a cocktail waitress in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Now the vampires and the shapeshifters are 'out', you'd think the supernaturals would get on with each other. But nothing is that simple in Bon Temps!

Really good read, I truly enjoyed listening to it

First of all the Sookie Stackhouse books are completely different to the well known TV series Trueblood, the scriptwriters have enhanced many characters that are virtually non existent in the books. The books are fairly slow paced but this is def. a Charlaine Harris writing trait. This book was a really good read and the narrator had Sookie down to a fine art. Her lovely southern drawl made the book akin to eating chocolate cake with whipped cream. She alternated her voice for different characters and in doing so brought them to life, especially Pam, her scenes made me giggle out loud. I really recommend this book to readers of the Sookie series and lovers of the supernatural genre.

Not the best in the series

I began growing weary when the fairy thing was introduced a few books back, but Harris was managing to keep a strong hold on the story and characters up to now, so I kept reading. This time the plot has come out so fluffy and uneventful that I'm considering giving up and settling with the tv series. HBO is less corny and there are no undead rock'n'roll kings around to make it look even sillier.

Good book!

A good book but I found it a little dissapointing. It made more questions than it answered and Sookie didn't seem as awesome as usual. Still a great read but not as great as it could have been.

Truly an experience not to be missed!

Any additional comments?

Everything I read I remember, everything I hear I remember...

So as you can imagine I will consume a book and move on never to return, this series of books however are the only ones I have gone back through multiple times. This is because the characters are so intricately designed they become real, the story lines while based in fantasy from the off never fail to surprise and thoroughly delight. I have never had such an all round almost tactile experience from something that I've read to make me come back to them so often and with that first time read anticipation it's nuts because I remember every word already.

They are utterly hilarious, full of blood-pumping action and downright hot in equal measure with so many more facets that will have you also coming back time and again.
The books do not copy the T.V. Show plot line they are completely different the anchors for both being the familiarity of the main characters but both being superb in their own ways.

A definite BUY IT NOW! you certainly will not regret it.

hmmmm

Not sure about this one, I love the series and have enjoyed them very much, but this one seems different and not as exciting as the others but i would still buy it to keep up to date. Was kinda disappointed with this one though.

Very entertaining

This book is very entertaining and I could not stop until I had read the whole book. I loved the mix of characters and the plot of the book. You can listen to the book whilst basking in the sun in the park or whilst taking a walk. Absolutely beautiful.

I didn't like this one

I don't like this one and feel the author just needed the books to come to a close so is making the characters act differently. I won't be reading the other either.

I do love the uncle character but I don't like what the author is doing to Eric and Sookie. I don't think she should end up with anyone else after all this build up. She's changed a lot and she wouldn't be able to get over the events she's lived and settle down with anyone else..
