Summary

Witness an untold chapter in Halo lore as John Shirley's Halo: Broken Circle takes us to the dawn of the Covenant and the fateful first bargain between the Prophets and the Elites. Broken Circle will explore an Elite splinter group rebelling against the Covenant in its earliest days, a brave Prophet caught in the machinations of the new Covenant leadership, and the root of the betrayal that would ultimately shatter the Covenant during events seen in the blockbuster Xbox video game Halo 2.

adds to the story

loved the fact that you see other side of the story and those who did not agree it's fascinating to get the background

Covenant History Alongside the New

Good insight into the history of the Covenant along with new insights into it breakdown and history of the Elites

Enjoyable story takes it's time twisted all the stories into one, but certainly worth it.

Good performance by narrator making the most of each character

Definitely worth it for Halo universe fans

fantastic view into a sceptical prophet

loved this one. I really enjoy hearing the different stories in the Halo universe especially being able to get an insight into a prophet that was able to be somewhere sceptical of "the great journey".

fantastically read by Scott as usual.

The Sanghelli are one of my favourite races in the Halo Universe! A good read for their lore. The reader on his is very nice to listen too!

A bit dis jointed but a good story

Could have been better, no mention of arbiter honor from the war before the writ of union. But a good tale anyway.

The book to teach you about the covenant

Broken Circle has an excellent story which only falters 3/4 of the way through due to a complete narrative change which i felt confusing as i struggled to learn multiple new characters. It was not that the second half was not enjoyable as I love the prophet of clarity but there was much more depth and time given to his ancestor the prophet of inner conviction. This story shows how the covenant come to be and tells it in a realistic way which shows how the covenant become the world destroyers you see in the main line halo games. Warning to those who want a book about humans, this is not for you, its purely focussed on the covenant and the sangheli. This book is worth a read as it gives greater depth for all lore fans of halo.

Nice back story to the covenant

Good sign of a story is the want to go back to it. That I did.
