Let me start by saying that this really is a good book, and I often found myself saying 'Well that was unexpected' or 'didn't see that coming', but this book is full on magical realism dipped in whimsy.
The narrator is excellent, really, really good, although he or the producers failed to work out Vainclaw is British.
But the story is my problem area. It's very clever and well written but I don't think I liked any of the characters all that much. So while the fate of the world us at stake, and I cared about that, I wasn't too bothered about any of the people in the story. Except Vainclaw. He was kind of fun
please, please, please...more MMS audiobooks! Hannah Green was excellent but MMS has many other classic books waiting to be told!
And he's definitely still on form. I've loved his work since my first read, but wish he'd write more! I do like his Michael Marshall books too, but as MMS he seems to have a much greater imagination. This book creates yet another wonderful tapestry including Hell, the Devil, 12 fallen angels, and a mushroom. Not to be missed!
