Summary

Cities were crushed by the falling spacecraft, but one ship didn't crash. It remained intact and disgorged hordes of alien soldiers determined to fight to the death. The abandoned vessels also contained a wealth of advanced technology.

Led by David Levinson, the greatest minds of our world developed deadly new hybrid weapons. Bases were built on the moon, Mars, and beyond. A new generation of defenders had to be trained, for the invaders would return.

In the headlong rush to prepare, however, not everyone would survive....

Meh

Basically a long description of what has happened since the first film and the upcoming second one. A good description, detailed, interesting, but ultimately nothing at all happens. Just a "now go see the movie" Cliff hanger. Don't waste money/credits on it.

Disappointing - avoid

What disappointed you about Independence Day: Crucible?

After reading the "Fear Saga" this felt very average in comparison, especially the story. It simply didn't offer any thrills, twists or surprises. If you enjoy teenagers going through school, falling in love and preparing for the military then this has spades of detail - but realistically feels like a simple cash in for the film. Go watch the film instead. William Hope does a decent job in narrating - it's simply the story that's lacking. Shame as this brand owes to it lots potential. Recommend avoiding, and if you haven't already look instead at the Fear Saga for your sci-fi fix.

good if you liked ID4 / IDR

It's all very cheesy, but still enjoyable. If you liked the films, worth a listen

Great Listen

links the 2 films nicely, this focus on the children as they go through flight academy and try to live up to their parents saving the world.
