Publisher's Summary

Interesting Times, the seventeenth novel in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, finds the planet's oldest empire in the midst of bitter turmoil after the publication of the revolutionary treatise What I Did on My Holidays. Workers, with nothing to lose but their water buffaloes, are joining forces against old warlords, spreading violence throughout Discworld's ancient cities. All that stands in the way of total destruction are 3 decidedly non-heroic creatures: Rincewind, the world's dumbest wizard; Cohen the Barbarian, who stands 5 feet tall in his surgical sandals; and a very special butterfly. Please note: This is a vintage recording. The audio quality may not be up to modern day standards.

Interesting Times, Good Times

There are just too many things I love about this story. It makes me laugh and smile and cry and want to kill the bad guys. It also shows how much like warfare teaching really is. The organised and polite rebellion is delightfully sweet and completely ridiculous. And just when things couldn?t get any worse here comes the world?s worst wizard and a hoard of (silver) barbarians. Not to mention there?s always the butterfly?.

Very poor quality audio

The book and Nigel Planer's reading of it are as good as always but this is an extremely poor quality copy of it, with lots of audio distortion, changes in pace as though an original cassette tape has stretched, and odd interruptions that again seem to mark the end of an old set of audio cassettes. Audible should not be offering this very substandard version for sale. I recommend that you do not buy it.
