Summary

But, the beast-man, scorned and hunted, knows,

Without honor there is nothing, not even death.

So, driven by the only ghosts that matter, Huma and himself, Kaz alone faces the scourge.

After the defeat of the Dark Queen and the death of Huma Dragonbane, the most famous of the Knights of Solamnia, Kaz, the renegade minotaur, wanders through Krynn, telling the true tale of the land's most legendary hero, stalked by his enemies - a haunted soul, an outcast, a hero. But when Kaz hears rumors of evil incidents, he returns to warn the Knights of Solamnia - and is plunged into a dark nightmare of magic, danger and déjà vu.

Excellent listen, great story

Kaz the Minotaur is a continuation of one of the story arcs of the excellent "Legend of Huma".

The Legend of Huma is the best Dragonlance novel, bar none. So Kaz The Minotaur has a lot to live up to.

In short - buy it and listen to it - you will not be disappointed.

In Long -
Now I am not saying you can't judge a book by its cover - but artists draw these photos based on the highlights of the story.

Look at the Legend of Huma - u got a dragon rider on a dragon with a Dragonlance - it is awesome and the book is awesome.

Look at the confused Chronicles on the front page of multiple characters (Dragonlance)- some argue the best in the series - but the story is convoluted - u get awestruck with a few events but the story is too long - don't believe me - watch the horrible animated version and u realize - OMG - the story is terrible - but I digress.

Kaz has a lot to live up - and it is very hard to live up to the Legend of Huma.

That said it is a good story - old characters from the Legend of Huma appear - so it makes it a worthwhile read and therefore if u enjoy Legend of Huma - u will enjoy this.

Going back to the picture tells a thousand words - the original photo told more action and was more compelling however I think they wanted some characters to be a surprise so I was surprised nonetheless.

The pic of the current book shows Kaz riding on a horse - looking into sunset. Well he probably was looking for a better story - but hey - you can't complain. Richard A Knaak creates an A storyline -Kaz and the main quest (I wont spoil it for u as it makes it more interesting as you discover what goes on) and a B storyline - that sort of ruins the progress - stupid minotaurs who worked for the evil army - looking for the deserter Kaz - who have been searching 7 years - my God - who looks that long - especially in an army of deserters and charlatans - but Richard A Knaak is using this story arc to create a way to continue the story so he can make more books (which he does), but it sort of ruins the storyline and development of the characters of the A storyline - we have a female cleric, and a knight, and a kender - who I am going to call them that because I don't remember their names as the B storyline took up too much space and we barely got an in-depth look into their history and backgrounds.

But let's get Kaz to take over the review from here, and see how he would have reviewed the book about him:

"I am Kaz. Minotaur. Friend of Huma, Dragonrider, and wielder of the Dragonlance."

Kaz snorts

"This story is about me. Kaz the minotaur. It tells the story of how I defeat an amazing enemy that I faced in the previous book.

Why did Richard A Knaak put this lousy story of a band of minotaurs led by an ogre chase after me?!?

It takes away from my shine. And also the awesome way I defeat that big evil.

I think Richard needed more money to buy a yacht and needed to write several books so created this dumb storyline.

The Knight of Solamnia are in disarray due to a lesser evil - say what?!?! Something that the power of evil in the last book which was more powerful could not do.

The grandmaster of the Knights - allows an audience to these minotaurs- rather than capture them and hold them for their crimes from the last war and then he sends them in the direction where I have gone on a quest to defeat an evil that may threaten all of Krynn. What is he - stupid? If they had interrupted me from my quest and I had failed- the grandmaster would be dead or locked in a deadly war for years. All of this after I have saved his ass - again.

Ok - its a bit lame - I asked Huma to be in it - but he thought the story was lousy and only made a small cameo in a dream sequence and even now he regrets that as it affected his book/film career(he never appears in another book again due to awfulness of the story) but at least you get to see me in.

And you sort of getting that neverending action sequences - not as good as Legend of Huma but it will have to do.

Hopefully if Hollywood makes a movie of me, they will get that Klingon guy from Star Trek TNG or DS9 to play me- or maybe his Klingon brother - he is a better actor. I want movie rights. Now I need to go and sharpen my horns.

Kaz says Peace out."
