As the aliens discover Colgan's ship and begin to hunt him down, the captain's mission changes from one of study to one of survival.
What Price Honor: Nanotechnology was all that kept humanity afloat in their brutal war against the Merkiaari, and it led directly to the creation of vipers, a regiment of cyborg super soldiers tasked with protecting the Alliance. When Gunnery Sergeant Gina Fuentez finds one of the fabled viper cyborgs in a terrorist camp during a mission, her squad comes under attack. Two members of her squad are dead, and she'll face the same fate if she can't escape the ensuing firefight.
Operation Oracle: General Burgton's self-imposed mission is to safeguard the alliance from future Merkiaari attacks. As the black missions Burgton authorizes begin to fail, he spends trillions of dollars on a forbidden solution: artificial intelligence. When the project collapses, Burgton compounds his crime. If he can't build an AI, he'll just have to steal one!

Not my thing
The Story didn't really take me. I Guess that if you like story's like John G. Hemry/Jack Campbell's the 'lost fleet' series's you'll enjoy this.
if you like Peter F. Hamilton or Iain M. Banks then this is probably not for you.

The Second Merkiaari War
This omnibus edition of the first three books in the Merkiaari Wars series is an entertaining read. I was more or less just expecting what is typical in alien space military type series where each book is just a continuation of the other, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the books each unique in itself, and tell a complete story in itself. Book 1 covers the background on a lot of the characters and the world and history, with a lot of disparate stories, which may make you wonder what it has to do with the Merkiaari war. Each thread in itself it very entertaining however. The second book deals more with an invasion and the repulsion. Book three then deals on a smaller scale with the aftermath, and plans to prepare for a much larger coming war, and to a greater extent a small team action on a mission to assist with the battle planning by locating a desired asset. I got this audiobook as a free review copy. I'd already purchased book 1, and I've previously purchased other books by the author, so I was very happy for the opportunity. Even so, the value for this omnibus for a 1 credit purchase is just fantastic and an easy recommendation.
Unlike a lot of multiple character view point novels, which I can often struggle with in audio format, I found that these worked well in that each character story was able to progress for a decent chunk of time before cutting to another. With some books the author cuts way too frequently, doesn't demark the transitions, and I sometimes (often) just can't pick transitions, leaving you lost and having to rewind a lot. It didn't happen to me here.
The narrator did a stellar job (pun intended) with the books, and I'd definitely listen to more books by him, and do in fact have a number of his other narrations in my library.
I look forward to more books in this series and from this author, and will have to get the next book in this series!

Great space combat
Already had listened to book 1 when I was offered this 3 book combo by the the author at no charge in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast dot com. Books 2 and 3 were even better than the first with gripping story lines and interesting characters. Will definitely be continue with the series.
