Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Harry Turtledove has intrigued readers with such thought-provoking "what if..." scenarios as a conquered Elizabethan England in Ruled Britannia and a Japanese occupation of Hawaii in Days of Infamy and End of the Beginning. Now, in the first of a brand-new trilogy, he rewrites the history of the world with the existence of an eighth continent. Atlantis lies between Europe and the East Coast of Terranova. For many years, this land of opportunity lured dreamers from around the globe with its natural resources, offering a new beginning for those willing to brave the wonders of the unexplored land.

What the Critics Say

"Turtledove excels in alternate history." ( Library Journal)"Harry Turtledove is probably the best practitioner of the classic alternate-history story since L. Sprague de Camp." ( Locus)

So boring

I downloaded this book full of excitement about a book on Atlantis and have managed to get mostly through the first download but I really can't manage any more. It is boring beyond belief. The number of things that have been killed so far - which seems to be the main subject of the book is mad. people, 'honkers', fish, birds - it just goes on. If you want to listen to a book about a bunch of fishermen who lead boring lives and kill things then read this book. If not choose something else for your money.
