Twists and turns, clones, the rich, the poor treated without empathy.
The book develops as though Horaatio Nelson, Dickens, Heinlein , the Scrarlette Pimpernell, the Marquis de Sade , Eugene Sledge and John Basilone collaboratied with Mr. Allan on the same novel.
It is fair to say it does not bore. What am I going to do with the rest of my life when I finish reading the series.
This is the last book in the series I'll listen to, it's just gotten too old. Same old stuff.
Does Allan really have to spend all the time he does writing about the same self doubt? The torment that comes with sending troops into battle and having them die? Cut all that out, and I think the book would be cut in half, and still have the same feeling, and a shorter story that may not have bored me.
