Editor reviews
In Sherlock Holmes and the Copycat Murders, grandfatherly British narrator David Ian Davies ably performs the role of the iconic fictional detective and his famous partner, Dr. Watson, and deftly transports the listener back in time to the foggy streets of turn-of-the-century London. There, a series of gruesome murders with a similar modus operandi all attempt to frame none other than Holmes himself!
It is yet another riddle-wrapped-within-an-enigma case for our Sherlock to somehow crack and solve. But this time, it’s personal.

A good story
I enjoyed the story and it is a good length, but at times the narrative seems rushed and it cam make for a few double takes. On the whole I give it a thumbs up

Good story but
Good story and narrator tries hard, his voices are fun but his disjointed reading lets him down

Well I liked it!
Watson was just as I imagined him.
This particular ‘voice ‘ was spot on… better than Nigel (um…forgotten his surname.. but he was the generally accepted usual actor of Watson!)
In some part maybe the dialogue is a little fast …
I could slow him down on the speed option on my phone!
I love the Sherlock Holmes tales and wasn’t negatively bothered by this version…in fact I did enjoy!

Pronunciation.
This was spoiled by the narrator's terrible pronunciation of many words, ie Buchan as "Boochun".

Enjoyable but editing is jarring
This is an enjoyable Sherlock Holmes story although somewhat derivative given it leans on the idea of copycat killings. This voice acting from a single performer is good but the editing is aggressive. It’s difficult to put your finger on initially but then you realise that all pauses and punctuation appear to have been removed leading to a disjointed performance that does a disservice to the reader.

Very good story
Unfortunately the narrator needs to slow down he gabbles through the entire story and it becomes extremely irritating to listen to

Bit disappointing
I am a great lover of Sherlock but found this audio book a little disappointing. The narration was super fast which made it difficult to absorb. I tried slowing the speed but then the narration sounded laboured so could not get it at a comfortable speed. There was not much originality in the plot as it used old cases and pinched ideas from other films. However, the voice used for Watson was perfect.

Conan Doyle spinning in his grave
I did listen to the end but accents, pronunciation and story were all poor. Really glad I didn’t waste a credit on it!

Amazing story but questionable performance
I loved the story as expected however some of the characters accents were highly questionable :( The “Yorkshire” accents specifically were horrendous!
